Editor-in-Chief, 225 Magazine: Leading an editorial staff of four and managing another two dozen freelance contributors, I oversaw daily editorial operations of Baton Rouge’s premiere monthly print publication, its weekly e-newsletters, blogs and daily online and social media content, helping the magazine grow into a multi-million-dollar business. This included conceptualizing all story, photo and video content, assigning stories and photo shoots, art directing photo shoots, managing content and payments and working closely with our graphic designers on final layouts with a circulation of nearly 30,000. 225batonrouge.com

 

Assistant Editor, 225 Magazine: I managed half of the magazine’s editorial content, including the news, arts, culinary and events sections. This included conceptualizing and assigning stories and photo shoots, managing content and payments and working closely with our graphic designers on final layouts, while also producing my own articles and photography for the magazine, incuding interviews with Academy Award winners, Oscar winners and coverage of the 2008 GRAMMY Awards.

Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge: Marketing consultant for the 2017 Ebb & Flow festival, working closely with Council staff to develop content and branding for this first-time event on the river.

 

Cap City Beer Fest: Board Member and Official Photographer for the event that benefits the nonprofit Companion Animal Alliance, 2016-2017.

 

Fight the Flood LA: Marketing partner for the group that raised nearly $30,000 through charity T-shirt sales, and co-producer of the group’s charity album for Louisiana flood relief.

 

Louisiana International Film Festival: Press Director and LIFFTV Producer for 2016. I oversaw all video capture and official portraits for the four-day festival as well as produced all press releases and coordinated media coverage and interviews for the festival and its ancillary events.

 

Wonder South Journal & Dry Goods: Co-founder/Editorial Director for the regional publication and Nature-inspired brand. Based in Baton Rouge, I oversee the creation and production of our quarterly printed journal, collaborate on brand designs, and lead social media and partnership initiatives. Freelance Magazine Writing: I created the “Louisiana Made” column for Louisiana Life, “The Creatives” column for InRegister, and frequently freelance for other publications including: 225 in Baton Rouge, Country Roads in Baton Rouge, Gambit in New Orleans and Flood in Los Angeles.

 

Freelance Video/Photography: I’ve produced video and photography for nonprofits such as the Louisiana International Film Festival, TankProof Swim Lessons Program, Red Stick Farmers Market and New South Story Lab, and for commercial clients like Kracke Consulting, Annie E. Designs, K. Frame Designs, Myk Management, Ask The Thomas Bros., and Crawfish Aquatics Swim School.

 

Staff Writer, 225 Magazine: I produced hundreds of articles about the culture, small businesses, food, community issues and news in Baton Rouge. I was the “founding” and only staff writer for 225 from Aug. 2005 – May 2006, and had great input on shaping the content and personality of the publication.

 

Writer/Editorial Assistant, Baton Rouge Business Report: I provided research, fact-checking, data organization, writing and photography for the city’s leading voice in business news, its website and its popular e-newsletter Daily Report, read by more than 20,000 subscribers.

 

Editorial Assistant/Writer, New York Magazine: I provided research, fact-checking, data organization, assistant art direction for photo shoots, feature writing and culinary reviews for both the print and online versions of New York. I also oversaw updating, writing and copy editing the special edition Best of New York 2003 volume.

 

Host, KLSU-FM: I co-hosted the Request Show on KLSU, developing content, managing an extensive digital and physical music library and performing live on air.
